– Description: Through this initiative, the Miresia Foundation was able to provide the Ura e Beshirit Health Center in Tirana with an ultrasonic nebulizer. This means that many young children under 7 years old no longer need to travel 2-3 times a day to the Mother Theresa Hospital to receive treatment for respiratory tract problems. This is especially helpful during the winter season when there is higher demand since children who already have respiratory problems are more likely to suffer from colds which exacerbate their breathing problems.

– Description: Around 20% of children need glasses to be able to read a book, participate in a classroom, and perform basic needs, and in low-income communities across Albania, roughly 80% of the children who need eyeglasses do not have them. What chance does each of these children have to succeed in school, let alone break free from poverty? Eyeglasses for Orphans is an initiative from the Miresia Foundation that was launched in 2019 aiming to make sure every orphan in low-income communiti/es has the glasses he or she needs to succeed in school and life. Through this fundraiser, the GAF and Miresia provided 23 orphans with eyeglasses, free of charge.

– Description: Through this initiative, the Rotary Club Macadam was able to purchase and deliver a mobile incubator to the Regional Hospital of Prizren where 5% of all babies are born prematurely. About 150 babies per year can now receive proper care from the mobile incubator during periods of transport to other hospitals for more serious treatment or during movement within the hospital in Prizren. This will reduce infant mortality, which in Kosovo is 3 times higher than the average for the European Union.
